HMRC Briefing: What Reverse Charge VAT Means For The Construction Industry
Date and time
Is your construction business ready for the new Reverse Charge VAT rules coming into place on 1st October? If not, HMRC are here to help.
About this event
New Reverse Charge VAT rules are being introduced on 1st October 2019, and according to research by the Federation of Master Builders more than two thirds of construction SMEs have not heard of the new rules.
The new rules could see the cash flow of more than 150,000 construction companies affected. The new rules coming into force mean that companies within the construction supply chain will no longer receive the 20% VAT when they submit bills. Instead, it will be paid directly to HMRC in a bid to reduce VAT fraud in the industry.
Research suggests that of those who did know about the new rules, 67% have not prepared for the new system, which is expected to cause significant administrative burdens to businesses.
Join us on Thursday 1st August at 9am for breakfast rolls and refreshments, before a briefing by HMRC on the new rules.
