If you’re a Self-Employed Associate, or a practice owner using Self-Employed Associates, the probability you’re facing very significant unpaid tax liabilities, is extremely high!
HMRC rules mean almost all self-employed Associates are actually Employed For Tax Purposes. That means the Associate and Practices they work in should be paying more tax and the College has seen evidence to show HMRC are actively targeting the Podiatry sector to chase this unpaid tax in 2024.
Over the coming months and years, HMRC are likely to challenge the tax status of any Associates who claim to be self-employed, and where they are successful, which will be in almost every case, the tax and penalties for both the Associate and the Practices in which they work, are potentially huge. Worse still, if you own a Practice, you could have to pay your Associate's tax bills and penalties on top of your own, and then claim this back from your Associate personally.
However, there are simple steps you are entitled to take to make sure you, or your Associates, are classed as Self-Employed for Tax Purposes. If you’re a self-employed Associate, or your Practice uses self-employed Associates, you can’t afford to miss our forthcoming webinar.
You’ll learn why you want to remain self-employed or continue to use self-employed associates, why you or your Associates are currently seen as employed for tax purposes by HMRC, how much it’s likely to cost in tax and penalties if you do nothing and the simple steps you can take to remove the risk entirely.
If you only join us for one webinar this year, this is the one you can’t afford to miss!
