We regret that due to exceptional demand tickets are no longer available for this event. Should tickets become available due to cancellations we will make these available at 8am daily. There will still be a range of activities in the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich and an opportunity to meet the Royal Marines and Royal Navy for which no tickets are required.

We thank you for your interest in this event and if you are still interested in the Royal Navy and wish to find out more about the work it undertakes please book tickets for the free presentation in the Painted Hall at the Old Royal Naval College on the evening of 28 May 2014 by visiting www.rnptgreenwich.eventbrite.co.uk

HMS BULWARK is the Fleet Flagship of the Royal Navy.  She is maintained at high readiness to deploy worldwide to deliver the punch of the Royal Marines ashore using her 8 landing craft and dock or by assault helicopter.  She can carry over 400 troops, complete with vehicles and combat supplies, including 31 large trucks and 36 smaller vehicles such as Land Rovers and amphibious Vikings as well as operate helicopters such as Chinook and Merlin. She is also the Royal Navy’s most advanced Command and Control platform and is the hub from which the Commander and Battle Staff of the UK Task Group and 3 Commando Brigade Royal Marines can project the Royal Navy and the United Kingdom around the world.

Following some intensive training and having recently played a key role in Europe’s biggest maritime, land and air exercise ‘Joint Warrior’, HMS BULWARK is preparing to lead the UK’s Response Force Task Group through the Mediterranean and East of Suez later in the year.  Whether commanding multi-national task forces, providing humanitarian assistance, disaster relief or conducting amphibious operations by sea and by air, HMS BULWARK and her exceptional sailors and marines remain ready to defend the nation’s interests whenever called upon to do so.

On 31 May and 1 June 2014, HMS BULWARK will open to the public for free tours so you can witness first hand the capabilities of such an important vessel. The ship visit will be strictly for ticket holders only and free boat transfers will be provided from Greenwich Pier. The visit will last approximately 90 minutes.

As well as the ship visit there will be opportunities to witness the capabilities of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines ashore in the Old Royal Naval College grounds so why not make a day of it and explore all that the Royal Borough of Greenwich has to offer.
