HMS Caroline - Open House Belfast
Sun 23 October 2016, 13:00 – 14:00 BST
HMS Caroline is the sole survivor from the Battle of Jutland, and the project has created a compelling and fascinating heritage attraction for visitors to enjoy. Step on board Belfast’s newest visitor attraction and be amazed by the impressively restored cabins and historic spaces. All of these spaces have been restored to look as they did in 1916, the year that HMS Caroline was part of the Battle of Jutland. The HMS Caroline will close on 24th October for Dry Dock (reopening Spring 2017) so this will be one of the last chances to visit on board in 2016!
Accessibility: HMS Caroline is the most accessible historic ship in the UK. There are lifts throughout to access most areas of the ship, and those not accessible can be viewed and explored in our virtual access suite. We advise customers with additional mobility requirements to come 60 minutes either side of high tide as the gangway can become very steep. The narrowest door on the ship is 64cm and we do have a small number of wheelchairs available if needed. The engine room is not accessible via lifts (it is down a staircase)
