Description
- The Royal Navy Type 23 Frigate, HMS MONTROSE will be visiting Montrose at the end of July and will host a ‘Ship Open day’ on Sunday 22nd July (10:00 – 16:00).
- The Clyde built Warship will return to her affiliated town for the first time since the summer of 2014. She will be berthed on the south side of the Port of Montrose.
- There will be a number of quayside attractions including a stand from the Sea Cadets, Royal Marines and Royal Naval Reserves. Tours are expected to last around 30-60 minutes.
- Parking will not be permitted within the port and visitors are advised that only handbags and small daysacks will be permitted on-board. ALL persons and bags will be subject to security searches. Cameras and phones are permitted on-board at the ships discretion.
- Please note, this is a working warship with no wheelchair or pushchair access (although there will be a secure area in which to leave items such as pushchairs). There is no age limit but for health and safety reasons, we kindly ask that all visitors are able to evacuate the ship independently, if required.
- Tickets are free and are to be presented at the security search point, either by printed copy or via a smart phone.
- Note. Strictly 1 ticket per person (i.e. a family of 4 will require 4 individual tickets).
- By entering the Port of Montrose, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions:
- All visitors must follow the designated safe walkways at all times
- No smoking permitted in the port
- Safety signs and notices must be followed
- No alcohol, illegal drugs or animals are permitted in the port
- No cycling is permitted in the port
- Visitors are advised to stay within the land side of the yellow markings when on the quayside.
