Event description

Description

A guided walk along the Hogsmill River from Berrylands Nature Reserve in Surbiton to Bourne Hall at the river's source. You will be guided along the river by members of the Catchment Partnership; a group of organisations that are working together to improve this precious chalk stream for people and wildlife. You'll learn all about this rare habitat, the threats it faces and the fantastic work that's been carried out to help it.

The walk will be around 8.5 km long from start to finish. Only want to join us for part of the walk? That's fine! We'll be stopping for a lunch break at Ewell Court House, and starting the second leg at 2pm so feel free to join us there instead. If you'd like to finish early then we'll be walking past many transport links on the way where you can finish the walk at a point to suit you. Rough timings for other waypoints are 11.30am at 6-acre Meadow and 12.30pm where the Bonesgate stream enters the main Hogsmill River (just upstream of the A240). Please call Jess on 07741 872381 if you are having trouble finding us.

The main walk will finish at around 15.30 at Bourne Hall with the option to return to Ewell Court House via a differnt route and finish at 16.30 instead.

Meeting point: outside Berrylands Scout Hut, Stirling Walk, Surbiton KT5 9HY.
