Holborn Studios – the battle against redevelopment + a Festive Gathering

Holborn Studios, the film and photography studios housed in a historic industrial building by the Regent's Canal, has been providing outstanding service, in an atmospheric venue, for well over 30 years. At the end of an epic legal battle, including three judicial review hearings and a planning enquiry, the famous studios appear finally to be free of the threat of demolition and redevelopment.

Mike McCartney of Holborn Studios will talk about this prolonged planning struggle and its impact on the studios, which has achieved an outstanding re-use of industrial buildings in an important setting. We hope to broaden the discussion to highlight some of the wider issues at stake.

This is our seasonal social gathering, drinks will be available to buy from the studios’ canalside bar, and we have space booked there to continue the chat after the talk and discussion.
