Event description
Fun, adventurous, bespoke and safe adventure and exploration days for 7-12 yr olds.

About this event

Book A bubble! An action packed day of adventure and exploration for a group of up to fifteen 7-12 year olds. We are asking parents to organise existing bubbles to book on so they are happy with who is attending. Based on our experience last year, this system works really well as parents can book safe in the knowledge they know who their children will be with.

Once the first ticket is sold, you will be sent a private link to share with other parents so they can book their children on. We need a minimum of 10 bookings to make the day viable. If fewer than this book on, parents can pay an additional charge to send fewer than 10 children.

Sayers Croft is taking all necessary steps to ensure these days can be run safely during the coronavirus outbreak. Details on the measures we have in place are outlined below.

Parents will have an input into the activities their children will be able to do during the day. We have a 60 acre site with lots of adventure, exploration and educational activities for you to choose from. The whole day takes place on our beautiful site and is delivered by 2 experienced instructors.

Activities to chose from include:

Bouldering (rock climbing)

High Ropes (year 5 upwards)

Outdoor Archery (with sucker arrows)

Shelter Building

Compass Trail

Pond Dipping

Nature Explorers

Plant Games

World War 2 Trail

River Study

Clay Models

Hazel Frames

Corn Dollies

Additional activities may be available should government guidance relax. While we endeavor to provide all activities requested, not all may be available due to time, staffing or covid secure measures. It will be an exciting and enjoyable day regardless of activities!

Kit List:The day will be entirely outdoors, so please be prepared for that!

Packed Lunch

Wellies (we have some spares to lend out)

Clothes you don't mind getting wet/muddy (and a change of clothes just in case)

Any necessary medication (and make sure Sayers Croft staff are aware of it)

By booking you agree to your child taking part in activities run by the Sayers Croft Trust, under the supervision of properly trained staff. Should the need arise, Sayers Croft staff will administer first aid and seek medical advice or emergency treatment for your child.

Coronavirus Measures:

Our coronavirus measures are in accordance with government guidance for out-of-school settings.

Maximum group size of 15. These are private days designed for existing 'bubbles' of children to attend. The lead parent booking the day can share details privately with other attendees of their choice. Parents and carers are encouraged to limit the number of settings their child attends, and minimise the number of groups their child mixes with.

There may be other users at Sayers Croft and sufficient care will be taken to ensure groups do not overlap. They will have separate toilets and hand washing facilities. Activity resources will be cleaned between uses.

Attendees will be outside all day, baring toilet use. Numbers using the toilet at any one time will be restricted.

Parents and carers are asked not to send their child if they, or anyone in their household are displaying coronavirus symptoms.

On arrival all participants will have their temperature measured with a non-contact infrared thermometer. If a child records a temperature over 37.8°, they will not be permitted to attend.

Attendees will thoroughly wash their hands on arrival, and frequently during the day.

A short briefing on how how to stay safe will be given to all participants on arrival.

All activities can be undertaken with participants maintaining social distancing. An instructor will need to check if harnesses are fitted correctly and will wear a face shield and gloves to do this. This kit will also be worn in the unlikely event of a rescue from an activity. Currently only our high ropes is a harnessed activity. You can request not to do these activities should you wish.

Two instructors will be with the group for the whole day. Should the same group attend multiple days, we will endeavor to allocate the same instructors each time.

Should a child develop symptoms during the day, they will be isolated immediately. Their parents will be contacted for collection. All other parents will be informed, and they will be able to collect their children if they chose to.

We will be complying with NHS Test and Trace should a positive case occur and we will retain contact details for attendees for this reason.

The wearing of masks is not compulsory, however children will be able to do so if they chose. For some activities (climbing and ropes), the wearing of masks will not be permitted.

Cancellations and Refunds.

Book with confidence - should your child not be able to attend the day, a full refund will be given.

Should government guidance change (local lockdowns etc) a full refund will be given.
