Research into holiday activity provision for disabled children and young people in Scotland

About this Event

Research into holiday activity provision for disabled children and young people in Scotland

Invite to take part in a focus group

We are working with Shared Care Scotland on a major piece of Scotland-wide research to help us better understand the scale, nature, and delivery of holiday activity provision for disabled children and young people across Scotland.

We would like to invite you take part in a focus group being run by the research company, Simon Jaquet Consultancy Services Ltd for parent/carers of young people who access holiday activities for disabled children and young people.

This will last approximately 1.5 hours and give you the chance to comment on:

• Local and national policy and strategy as it affects holiday activity provision

• The availability of provision - especially over the summer

• What disabled children and young people's think of current provision

• What parent carers think of the provision

• Examples of good practice

• The challenges faced by those commissioning and running holiday activity provision

• Practical solutions which would help overcome the challenges

• How Self Directed Support (SDS) is influencing the choice and availability of holiday activity provision

Travel expenses will be available to cover the cost of coming to the focus group.

A light lunch will also be provided.
