About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

In this workshop, students explore how vehicles are designed to protect passengers during collisions. They will then put their knowledge to the test by engineering and adapting a paper car to keep a chocolate egg passenger safe in a crash simulation. Applying Newton's laws of motion, they'll experiment with design features that help absorb impact and minimise damage.

This is a hands-on, high-energy way to learn the science behind vehicle safety and motion.

Content warning: This workshop contains discussions about road traffic collisions and contains footage of simulated crash tests.

This workshop is strictly for ages 12-14 only.

This workshop will include a 30 minute supervised lunch break. Students should bring their own lunch and a drink. We reserve the right to refund or deny entry to those who are not in this age range.

Refunds can be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
