Holiday Workshops: Extract your own DNA (ages 9–11)

Students will extract their own DNA and walk away with a small piece of it in a necklace for them to wear.

Working in a real science lab and using their own cheek cells, students will extract their DNA using enzymes and use ethanol to separate it from the solution, ready to transfer into their own necklace.

This workshop is a great early introduction to enzymes and DNA.

This workshop is strictly for ages 9–11 only. We reserve the right to refund or deny entry to those who are not in this age range.

Please note that closed toe shoes must be worn as this workshop takes place in our lab.

Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
