‘Now that Phoebe was on the way to Glasgow, large, magic and unknown, she could not sit still for excitement’ - Antimacassar City, Guy McCrone

Plucked from the wilds of the Scottish glens, she’s the latest Moorhouse to make the pilgrimage to Glasgow.

Inspired by Phoebe, the youngest member of the clan, we’re inviting you to follow in her footsteps and forge your own path as you explore Holmwood House at your own pace. See for yourself the world of Wax Fruit up close within Holmwood’s historic walls. Get a first look at the production stills and costumes featured in the teaser trailer.

And with our house guides on hand, you can learn more about the house’s striking design, and her rather unusual history.

Our Wax Fruit weekend is celebrating the re-publication of Guy McCrone's trilogy of books. First published in the 1940s, it tells the tale of the ambitious Moorhouse family, as they navigate the world of 1870s Glasgow.

Please note that between 10am-12pm and 2pm-4pm, some rooms within Holmwood will be closed for other events
