Holy Moly with Peppy Scott and David Smith

Holy Moly with Peppy Scott and David Smith

By Zack Davies

Overview

Two for the price of one at Holy Moly this November, as Peppy and David (a.k.a Flitt and Folio) take over! Plus our regular open mic.

Two for the price of one this November, when Peppy Scott and David Smith grace our stage. Whether reading separately or as double-act Flitt and Folio, Peppy and David are witty and entertaining performers, specialising in wry commentaries on the nonsense that is modern life. In their own words:

Peppy Scott and David Smith are poets who will go anywhere for attention, but are regularly heard reading and performing in the Tunbridge Wells area. Both write from personal experience, with a wry observational eye on the world. While both use humour, Peppy favours subversive wit and satire, while David aims straight for the target and pulls no punches. Alongside the topical and the funny stuff, you can expect to hear whimsy, nostalgia and flashes of passion. Themes covered are as varied as birth, death, global tyranny, cake recipes and mynah birds residing in old ladies’ knickers. Together they perform as comedy variety duo (Pam) Flitt & (Ivor) Folio, combining spoken word, video, stand-up and song to chaotic effect which, they have been told, is unusually entertaining.

Before Peppy and David we will have a slightly reduced open mic, given that we have two headliners. But we'll still try and fit in everyone who signs up, be they poets, word-spokeners or short-storyists. No need to contact us in advance, just turn up on the night and read! As ever, entry is free, but if you want to support us you can do so by buying an optional ticket.
