Event description

Description

Ahead of opening in July this year, Holyrood Distillery has partnered with Kask Whisky to develop Whisky Walking Tours, with tastings.

Saturday Tours - St Leonards and Southside
Meet at Holyrood Distillery Pop-Up Shop, 73 St Leonards Hill.

Sunday Tours - Canongate and Holyrood
Meet outside the public entrance of Scottish Parliament.

Both tours finish at Holyrood Distillery's current pop-up shop, for a tasting session of specially selected whiskies related to the tours, and to illustrate the area's wonderful whisky and distilling heritage.

These experiences will introduce visitors to the rich history and distilling heritage of these areas, once home to 30 breweries and has strong links to some of the most important whisky dynasties of historic Edinburgh. The tours have been developed, and will be led by, Justine Hazlehurst, founder of Kask Whisky and Fife Whisky Festival. Justine already operates successful whisky walking tours in Leith.

The tours and tasting are approximately 90 minutes long. 45 minutes walking, followed by 45 minutes tasting at the Holyrood Distillery pop-up shop. However, depending on the pace and interest level of the group, the experience can last 2 hours.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Due to the nature of the experience, which includes several whisky tastings, this tour is restricted to over 18's only. Please be aware that anyone who is lucky enough to look under the age of 25 may be asked to show ID.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is no designated customer parking at Holyrood Distillery. In order to enjoy the whisky tastings as part of the experience, we recommend arriving for the tours by foot or public transport. Both Holyrood Distillery and Scottish Parliament where the two different tours begin, are located just 15 minutes walk from Waverley Station
