Home & Away: A Lunchtime Concert

Welsh soprano Kathy Macaulay and Irish baritone Jonathan Reynolds present music from their homelands alongside songs and arias from afar. Having performed this lunch-time concert in Cardiff they are delighted to now be bringing it to Warrenpoint, joined this time by renowned accompanist, Danny O’Neill.

The programme features a compilation of vocal music, most notably from Irish and Welsh composers, including songs by Morfydd Owen from Ty Cerdd’s newly published collection, and arias from Enniskillen-born composer Joan Trimble’s opera Blind Raftery & Jon Guy’s new opera, Gresford: Up From Underground. From Mozart to Herbert Hughes, Sondheim to Benjamin Britten, this concert uses operatic arias, art songs, folksongs and comedy pieces to explore the theme of Home and Away.
