Home Education : Museums, Mystery and History
Come and discover the secret history of Bath from medieval times to the 20th century and create your own museum.
Have you ever wondered what lies beneath the streets around you? The Mystery of History is a five part course that seeks to bring history to life by exploring Bath and creatively putting its hidden history in the wider context of the times, as well as thinking about what history means to us and exploring the collections of some of Bath’s most exciting museums.
The course will cover medieval times, Bath’s Georgian heyday, the transformation of the turbulent 20th century, personal collections and historical objects, as well as thinking creatively about museums and how we remember history. Your children will get a wonderful combination of informative walking tours to discover the hidden city, trips to museums to help bring history to life, lively discussion and learning of historical facts, all culminating in an exciting opportunity to create their own personal museum!
