About this event
Home educated children aged 7 and up are invited to join us for this fun and interactive workshop at Pontefract Castle where we will delve into the world of archaeology.
Participants will learn what archaeology is, discover some of the amazing things that archaeology has revealed about Pontefract Castle’s past and have the chance to try some of the key tasks undertaken by archaeologists, from identifying artefacts to recording finds with words and pictures.
Part of this workshop will take place outdoors so please ensure everyone in your group dresses appropriately for the weather and wears closed-toed shoes. Some activities will be messy so please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty. For more information please email us at museumslearning@wakefield.gov.uk
This session is delivered in partnership with the Community & Family Learning Team at Wakefield Council’s Adult Education Service.
