Welcome to our first Home Educators (Primary) - Nature Guardians event! Join us at the Tewkesbury Youth Centre and nearby Tewkesbury Nature Reserve for a morning of learning and exploring nature. This event is perfect for children aged 5-11 who want to become Nature Guardians. We plan to go for a walk around the nature reserve, bird watching, bug hunting and wildlife spotting along the way. There will also be a craft activity available to finish back at the Youth Centre and refreshments available for the last half hour.
All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the session. Please make Hannah (our Outdoor Learning Officer) aware of any allergies / additional needs (such as SEND and access needs) in advance, to support us in developing a session that everyone can access equally.
Meeting location: Tewkesbury Youth Support Centre, Link road, Tewkesbury, GL20 5JQ
Due to the weather and conditions at the nature reserve, please come prepared with appropriate clothes and shoes. The reserve can be very muddy so walking boots or wellies may be best, although this depends on the weather. In the event of prohibitive weather / conditions outside on the nature reserve, an alternative indoor activity will be provided at the Youth and Community Centre. There are no toilets on the reserve, but these are available at the Youth Centre before and after the walk.
Get ready to join in with different wildlife activities and hands-on exploration that will help your child explore, learn about and connect to nature. This will be a chance to connect with like-minded families, learn about the natural world and find out how you can make a difference. We hope to see you there!
