Explore Ancient Egypt through role play , original objects and making.

About this event

Children will investigate and record evidence using original Ancient Egyptian objects from an Ancient Egyptian tomb. Learn about the mummification process create a mummy.

Using drama explore hieroglyphs by making shapes with your body and mime the jobs performed by shabti in the afterlife. The bartering game will teach you how the Ancient Egyptians used objects to buy what they needed for everyday life. Try writing using reed pens and ink to make your own royal cartouche and amulet.

Workshop starts at 10am and finishes at 2.30pm, including a lunch break. There is no café on site, please bring a packed lunch.

Suitable for children aged 7 - 11 years.

Younger siblings not taking part in the workshop are welcome, please book a free ticket for them. This is so we are aware of how many people will be on site that day.
