With the recent energy price hikes, domestic energy bills are a real cause for concern for many. The Home Energy Helpdesk is designed to help by offering practical assistance on how to save energy costs and trim your carbon footprints.
We're running it once a month at the same time and place as the Repair Café.
We'll have a team of volunteers there to talk over your own situation, and what energy saving steps might be practical for you.
Come along for:
- A friendly chat about how you can save energy at home
- Tips on how to cut your fuel bills
- Suggestions on where to start with draught-proofing, insulation, solar energy, heat pumps and more
- Info on what grants are available - including the Warmer Homes Scheme and Boiler Upgrade Scheme.
The service is entirely free, though you might like to drop a small donation in Repair Café bucket as you leave.
Please bear in mind:
- Greening Steyning is a volunteer organisation and we provide this information in good faith. Most of the Homes & Energy team that run the Home Energy Helpdesk have prior knowledge of upgrading/retrofitting our homes to help save energy and to reduce our global footprint. But please note we are enthusiastic amateurs rather than qualified and fully accredited professionals.
- Before proceeding with any major works you need to obtain professional advice from suitably qualified person(s).
- Whenever seeking advice you need to make your own personal enquires as to the qualifications, financial status, competence of the provider and if the technology is the most appropriate for your own personal circumstances.
- We advise you to obtain at least three “like for like” quotations from different providers before proceeding with any major works.
