The Community Liaison and Partnership Team at Home Energy Scotland is running two free training and networking events which are designed to bring together individuals and organisations committed to tackling fuel poverty. Through a combination of presentations, practical exercises and discussion groups, the training will provide an insight into the causes and effects of fuel poverty as well as the support available from Home Energy Scotland to tackle this issue.
By the end of the training, delegates will have:
the knowledge to identify households vulnerable to fuel poverty
practical skills on saving energy at home
awareness of the support available to fuel poor households
confidence to refer their service users for further support
Who should attend?
The training is aimed at frontline staff working with vulnerable households that are struggling to heat their homes and pay their fuel bills. It is particularly relevant to those who work with groups such as older people, disabled, families with children under 16, single occupancy households, pregnant women and households in rural areas.
