This hands-on course is an ideal introduction to bike maintenance. It will give the learner the skills and knowledge to be able to carry out many routine bike maintenance jobs without the need for a trip to the local bike shop.

We are located on Blackburn with Darwen Services Junction4/M65. On entering the motorway services access road, immediately follow the signs for the DSA Test Centre. We are located on the Hub which is opposite the DSA Test Centre.
Yes. There is free car parking available on The Hub. If travelling by bike you can leave it in our secure workshop.
Unfortunately, the classroom is located above the workshop and only accessible by a flight of stairs.
We have a professionally equipped workshop and a separate climate controlled classroom, WC, hot running water and free refreshments including tea/coffee and biscuits.
Yes. There is a Travelodge located a short distance by foot on the Junc4/M65 motorway service area. There is a PremierInn located close to the Junc4/M65 motorway service area which is a short drive/cycle ride away and within walking distance.
Yes. The home mechanic course is designed to give you the skills and kowledge to be able to fix and service your own bike. If you can't bring your own bike for any reason we do have bikes available for you to work on.
Wear clothes that you don't mind getting dirty. Make sure that your clothing is not loose fitting and open to the point that it could become a hazard and get caught in a spinning bicycle wheel. Please tie long hair back and remove any jewellery. Wear closed shoes, not flip flops or sliders.
Your tutor is a Cytech Master Mechanic and holds a relevant teaching qualification. He has many years experience fixing bikes, teaching cycle maintenance and assessing apprentices within the cycling industry.
These courses are for adults only. The minimum age for attendance is 18.
