Mics in a muddle? Cables causing confusion? Reverb sounding rubbish? So many professional musicians are having to embark on home recording projects under present circumstances, many without proper training, experience, or equipment, and under pressure to produce professional results. During this session, Robin Bigwood will discuss some first principles of sound recording, look at some typical basic setups for various operating systems and combinations of software and hardware, and answer your home recording questions. The session is open to all, but is primarily aimed at professional singers and instrumentalists. There is no cost, but you are invited to make a voluntary contribution of £5 if you feel you can, to help support future events like this. The session is funded by the Septenary Foundation.
