Open to anyone aged 19 and above living in Lancashire (not including Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool)
During this short 2-week course, we will focus on key areas and skills to help your child consolidate prior knowledge from their previous year at school.
There will also be lots of ideas and resources available to further help you support your child while home-schooling. It will be full of opportunities for you, as a parent, to ask the tutor questions about how children are currently being taught in school. This is a parent only course aimed at upskilling parents' knowledge, for this reason it will be more effective for you to attend without children. However, we do realise this may not be possible during the current situation, please do not let this stop you from attending.
At the end of the course, learners will be able to:
1. To identify current approaches to the teaching and learning of Maths in year 3 and 4
2. To list common terms used in teaching Maths within year 3 and 4
3. To identify own strengths and weaknesses in relation to their own Maths skills
4. To explore a range of websites linked to Maths skills relevant to year 3 and 4
5. To identify and carry out activities to support and develop Maths skills with your child
6. To develop your confidence on this course and identify further learning opportunities and aspirations.
Open to anyone aged 19 and above living in Lancashire (not including Blackburn with Darwen and Blackpool)
