Overview and Purpose:
This workshop is being run by the Lewisham Safeguarding Adults Board to follow up on the success of the first event of its kind we delivered in 2024 in conjunction with the 999 Club in Deptford. The purpose is to bring a range of key stakeholders together to discuss homelessness from a safeguarding perspective, and in doing so to continue to develop good practice in this space, so those impacted receive a joined up and effective response from services.
Target Audience:
Housing sector colleagues; professionals and commissioners working in addiction services; health and social care practitioners; staff working in police and community safety services. Service users from St.Mungo’s will also be attending to provide their insight from a lived experience perspective.
Agenda: There will be speakers from: Homelessness Services and Adult Social Care/ Safeguarding in the local authority; SLaM in relation to dual diagnosis; Jason Marriott the Government’s Homelessness Advisor for Lewisham. There will also be time for group discussions to generate recommendations and actions to be taken forward.
Lunch will also be provided alongside some time for networking.
