Event Details

Join like minded sustainability professionals for an action packed evening of meaningful conversations, idea generation and professional skill building.  In true form for The Action Lab, expect immersive learning and speed networking through thought-provoking activities and valuable dialogue.

All this at our awesome new venue - The Bedouin Tent, in the heart of the city with drinks and canapes included in your ticket price.

// What will we talk about? //

Sustainability leaders have an exceptionally difficult job.  Your influencing skills need to be unparelled to inspire colleagues and stakeholders to move away from business as usual.  You need the courage, confidence and tenacity to dive into prickly and difficult conversations that convince people of new opportunities.  And, in some organisations, as sustainability becomes increasingly "embedded" your leadership skills need to be strong enough to bring colleagues from disparate departments on the journey with you.

We'll be discussing:

  • Your personal leadership brand as a sustainability professional
  • influencing people to create results beyond expectations
  • Using enquiry-based leadership to engage and empower others

// Who is this event for?  //

This event is for sustainability professionals working in the private, public and charitable sectors.  Professionals who have chosen to spend their career building a greener and more equitable world.  If the title 'sustainability professional' feels like you, we'd love to welcome you along!

Attendees tend to come from a diverse range or organisations and companies; and specialise in many topics including corporate supply chains, resouce efficiency, transport, housing, water, energy, food, farming, conservation, sustainability communications, research, policy and campaigning.

Since the event is in a tent (a warm and cosy one) places are limited to 30 people and booking is essential to secure your place.

If you can't make it to this one, our next event is on Wednesday 17th January 2018, same time, same place.

"The successful companies of the future will be those that align profit and purpose through business model innovation.  Exceptional sustainability leaders are key to making this transition."

The Action Lab

The Action Lab was founded by Charlotte Cawthorne in 2015 to build teams that change the world by training and developing corporate sustainability advocates and charity programme teams to overcome objections and accelerate environmental and social change.  The Action Lab helps clients to ensure that the right people are in the right jobs, with the right strategy and skills.  We then unlock latent creativity and productivity through running carefully designed team building, experiential and community learning solutions.

Charlotte spent 10 years collaborating on over 2000 environmental and humanitarian impact initiatives while working at McKinsey & Co, The Prince’s Charities and Innocent Drinks.

Recent clients include: HSBC, innocent drinks, ITV, Compass, Deliciously Ella and a variety of small charities and Certified B Corporations.

“Working with the The Action Lab has left us able to understand one another better, implement new ways of working and get a lot more done.

“The Action Lab is professional and committed to helping others achieve impact. I highly recommend them for leadership training and coaching.”

“The Action Lab helped us to start a new project with clarity and pace and developed our skills to quantify the opportunity, influence stakeholders and get them on board.”
