Description

Date: Tuesday 18 February 2020

Location: Cass Business School, 106 Bunhill Row, London EC1Y 8TZ

Registration and teas and coffees from 15:00 for a 15:30 start.

To help us to begin to navigate through the opportunities and challenges in 2020, we have invited two speakers from NCVO to outline the policy environment and its implications: Sarah Vibert, the newly appointed Director of Public Policy and Paul Breckell, Deputy CEO of Autism Now and the Honorary Treasurer of the NCVO Trustee Board.

Sarah Vibert is Director of Public Policy and volunteering at NCVO. In this role she is responsible for public policy, communications, Volunteering development and research. Sarah has held a number of leadership roles in the voluntary sector; most recently as Chief Executive of umbrella charity The Neurological Alliance. Sarah also spent time in senior management roles at Epilepsy Society and In Kind Direct. She started her career in local government management, including working for The Mayor of London.

Paul Breckell is the Deputy Chief Executive of Ambitious about Autism. Prior to this he was the Chief Executive of Action on Hearing Loss from 2012-2018. He is the Honorary Treasurer of NCVO and a past Chair of the Disability Charities Consortium and of Charity Finance Group. He is a passionate advocate for volunteering and social change.

Sarah will provide an up to the minute outline of the challenges which the charity sector could be facing in the next 12 months and Paul will consider the impact that these challenges may have, especially from his viewpoint as an Honorary Treasurer. There will be ample opportunity to share thoughts with others attending and to consider whether your charities are fully prepared for any changes.

The formal proceedings will finish about 17:15 followed by networking with fellow treasurers and our sponsors over drinks and snacks until 18:30.
