Hook Norton Brewery Tour, Oxfordshire
Thu 17 August 2017, 09:00 – 17:00 BST
Today we head through the pretty Cotswold scenery to find out about the history of the Victorian Hook Norton Brewery. Hook Norton is one of the few breweries that still use shire horses and dray to deliver beer to their local pubs in the traditional way.
So before our tour, just up the road (weather permitting) we will visit the Pear Tree where the horses are scheduled to deliver for the week. Also before our tour we have arranged a buffet lunch at Hook Norton Brewery to help soak up the tastings we will be trying later on.
The tour starts from the Visitor Centre and progresses around the brewery where you will see their original steam engine, learn about their history and how they make their range of delicious beers. Upon completion of the tour, it's back to the sampling bar in the Visitor Centre for a beer tasting and to collect your free 1/2 pint Hooky tour glass.
Regrettably, the Brewery Tour itself is not suitable for people with walking difficulties - after the tour and tastings, your walking ability is your responsibility!!
