Event description
Get your glowsticks and Halloween fancy dress at the ready as the Hope House & Ty Gobaith Dark Runs are back!

About this event

You can choose to run, jog or walk in the dark on Saturday, October 30th at either Telford Town Park (5K), Chirk Castle (4K) or in the Dingle Nature Reserve on the beautiful island of Anglesey (5K).

Or if you cannot make the date, why not do your Dark Run virtually? You could even host your own Dark Run with a group of friends, family members or work colleagues.

Our Dark Runs are open to all ages and abilities and you are encouraged to come in your best Halloween fancy dress or covered in glow sticks.

Everyone taking part will receive a limited edition glow-in-the-dark medal and a fabulous goody bag when crossing the finish line. If you are taking part virtually, your medal and goody bag will be sent out to you in the post.

Registration is £20 per adult and £5 per child*. There is no minimum sponsorship, participants are asked to raise as much as they can. Places are limited at each venue and these events are known to sell out so be sure to book quickly to secure your place!

  • All participants must bring a torch or head torch with them.
  • Young runners/walkers are welcome but anyone under the age of 16 much be accompanied by an adult.
  • Dogs are not allowed to take part as there is a risk to tripping over them in the dark.
  • All venue routes will be marked with glow sticks and marshalled at various points.

*Eventbrite fees will be applied at checkout.

By registering for this event you are agreeing to the following statement: I am taking part in this event at my own risk and the promoters, or any person involved in the organisation of the event, will not be responsible for any illness or injury caused by my participation. I will only participate on the day if I am fit enough to complete the course. I grant Hope House the right to use photographs/videos taken of me during the event, i.e. on the Hope House website/Facebook page.

Thank you to our medal sponsors Kronospan and Schneider Electric.

Organiser Hope House Children's Hospices

Organiser of Hope House & Ty Gobaith Dark Runs Saturday October 30th 2021

We're here for children who are not expected to live longer than early adulthood. We're here to help them enjoy the best possible quality of life and make the most of every moment.

We’re here 365 days a year for their parents and families too, who can often find it hard to cope and feel isolated.  We’re here throughout the lifetime of their child - and often well beyond - with specialist nursing care, counselling support, empathy & understanding.  We also offer bereavement counselling to anyone affected by the death of a child. Our dedicated teams work at Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith, in families' own homes and in the local community.

As a registered charity, we need to raise over £6 million this year. That’s well over £100,000 every week to make sure we can carry on being here for all the children and families who need us in Shropshire, Cheshire, Mid and North Wales.

At Hope House, we're committed to respecting your privacy and complying with current data protection regulations.
