"I want to use the art of photography in a different way, through reporting to try to change the world"

You are invited to an Evening with Yannis Behrakis, held at the iconic Thomson Reuters building. Yannis will immerse you in his art, and give you the opportunity to see the world through his lens.

He will walk you through his 30-years of photography and take you on a journey of hope, through chaos.

You will you hear the stories behind his photographs, and have the opportunity to network with Yannis after the event.

All proceeds of this event will go to The Prince's Trust - a charity that supports vulnerable young people and transforms their lives for the better.

Yannis Behrakis is a Pulitzer Award Winner for breaking news photography. He studied photography at the Athens School of Arts and Technology and received his BA (Hons) from Middlesex University.

He has been a Photojournalist for Reuters since 1987, and has covered some of the most important news events globally. From changes in Eastern Europe and the Balkans, to recent events such as the political unrest in his home country Greece, Yannis has captured some of the biggest stories around the world.

His other works include the civil conflicts in Croatia, Bosnia and Kosovo, the migrant crisis, and the wars in Sierra Leone, Somalia, Afghanistan, and Lebanon.

In addition to receiving the Pulitzer Award, he has also been awarded:

  • Three Times European Photojournalist of the Year by FUJI
  • Awards from the Missouri University the World Press Photo
  • Overseas Press Club of America Award
  • The most prestigious Greek journalistic prize - The Botsis Foundation Award
  • Three Times Bayeux Award Winner for War Correspondents
  • Named Guardian Photographer of the Year in 2015

Tickets are inclusive of drinks, canapés, and hot food served throughout the night. There will also be an opportunity to network with other Reuters journalists, a Reuters Photography gallery, among other extras throughout the night.
