Welcome to Freshwalks and our first Sunrise event of the 2021/2022 season. We invite you to join us for some uphill, early morning walking before hopefully witnessing a glorious morning sunrise from the Mam Tor ridgeline.

We intend to start the walk from Edale train station at 06:30. You can either drive and meet us there or catch a train from Manchester Piccadilly at 05:46, passing Stockport at 05:56 and Hazel Grove at 06:04.

As we start this walk in the dark, you will need to bring a torch (ideally a headtorch), wear warm layered clothing including waterproofs and either walking boots or shoes.

You'll also need to bring your own drinking water, perhaps some light breakfast and a flask of something hot for when we stop to enjoy the sunrise view around 07:35. (Please note that a decent pace will be needed to reach the summit in time and accordingly, we've graded this route hard)

We aim to arrive in Hope around 10:00 and will head for further breakfast options at the Edwardian Tea Rooms at the Old Hall Hotel. Drivers can take the 10:40 train back to Edale (7 mins journey).

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

No, you're fine as you are. We keep track of the attendees and check you off on arrival. However, if you have a confirmation email saved onto your phone, this may be useful on the rare occasion that there are any issues.

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

If you can no longer make it, please be sure to contact us. We try to be as accommodating as possible and understand that work commitments may pop up. Therefore, if you do need to transfer your ticket to a colleague, please contact us with their details to transfer this asap.
