Join the Friends of Horfield Common on a guided walk led by wildlife educator, local historian and enthusiast, Steve England Steve England Outdoor Learning around Horfield Common to spot, identify and learn all about these wonderful flying mammals.
He will guide you around the common, armed with bat echo locators to see how many different species of bat you can identify.
You will look at the various habitats and learn all about bats – how bats see in the dark, how they find their food, how they find their way back home. It is ESSENTIAL to wear sturdy footwear, be stable on your feet, and bring a torch!
The event is scheduled to end at 9pm, but this will be dependant on the number of bats.
There are limited spaces on this walk. Booking on a first come first served basis, and must be booked in advance!
Ticket prices
£8 per person, which includes the Eventbrite service and processing fees.
Cancellation/Postponing due to Poor Weather
Steve England Outdoor Learning events take place outdoors, and therefore unfortunately may need to be postponed or cancelled in the days leading up to the event if it seems that the weather will be too poor for it to be run safely. FoHC will always aim to confirm cancellation of the event 24 – 48 hours in advance (though on very rare occasions, sudden weather changes may mean it's closer than this). Please keep an eye on your emails for information regarding this.
