Join us for a weekend of full-size fun, hands-on activities and model magic at Hornby’s WonderWorks and The One:One Collection in Margate!

Whether you're a lifelong enthusiast or simply looking for a great day out with the family, Hornby Hobbies’ summer open weekend promises something for everyone. Held across two days in the historic home of Hornby, this event is packed with interactive displays, iconic brands, model railways, slot car racing and a rare chance to get up close to full-size trains and half-scale classic cars.

This special event is part of our Railway 200 celebrations – marking 200 years since the dawn of passenger rail – but it’s about more than just trains. It’s a celebration of creativity, engineering and play across generations.

What's more, every ticket holder receives a £5 voucher to spend in The WonderWorks shop or one of the cafes on the day.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The One:One Collection

Your ticket includes a preview of One:One Collection – packed with full-size heritage locomotives, large-scale engineering models, and a working O gauge layout. Step inside to see the mighty Black 5 and iconic Royal Scot locomotives, Churchill’s funeral carriage, and the original Euston station departure boards. The space also features a working O gauge layout and large-scale engineered. It’s an unmissable experience for anyone curious about the scale and story of Britain’s railways.

Ticket refunds will only be issued in exceptional circumstances and at our discretion, where a valid reason is provided.

Visitors entering the One:One Collection will do so subject to their acknowledgement and understanding of the following conditions:

a) Entry to the One:One Collection Museum is by prior ticket purchase only

b) The museum is a work in progress – the site owners have taken all reasonable steps to make the passage of visitors safe.

c) Known hazards are identified and access will be restricted where necessary.

d) Children must be supervised at all times.

e) Access to certain areas may not be suitable for disabled/ wheelchair users.

f) The exhibits on display are valuable and must not be touched or damaged in any way.
