🌿 Join the Balsam Bashing Brigade! 💪
Be part of something meaningful with East Mercia Rivers Trust – help us protect our rivers and reconnect with nature by removing invasive Himalayan Balsam!
This fast-growing plant outcompetes native species and damages riverbanks – but with your help, we can stop it in its tracks. It’s rewarding, hands-on conservation work that’s also a great chance to meet like-minded people and enjoy the outdoors.
🧤 No experience needed – we’ll show you what to do! Just bring your enthusiasm and come ready for a bit of muck and adventure.
🧺 What to wear/bring:
✔ Long trousers and long sleeves (there are nettles!)
✔ Wellies or sturdy waterproof boots
✔ Spare socks – just in case!
✔ Gloves if you have them (we’ll have some too)
✔ Water and a snack/lunch for break time
📅 Tasks vary seasonally & may not run for the full 4hrs
🔹 Booking is essential via Eventbrite to ensure you receive location details and so we have the right PPE, tools and safe working group sizes. Children MUST be accompanied by an adult.
