Hortus Choir presents Bouquet Garni

Hortus choir present Bouquet Garni, a collection of musical flavours to delight and tantalise the senses! From the exquisite sacred love of William Byrd's rarely heard Mass for Three Voices, to the earthly passions of the madrigals of Thomas Tompkins, to the worldly concern of Guillaume de Machaut's cleverly composed ballades, we will present an exciting collection of musical gems from this era of early and Renaissance music, that visits spiritual heights, profane depths and everything in-between.

Hortus (meaning Garden) are a quartet of four choristers from the choir of St Giles' cathedral in Edinburgh - we are passionate about bringing early, rarely heard musical gems to life in the beautiful surroundings of historic locations throughout Scotland.
