Event description

Description

With help from our friends of the independent record label, Killing Moon, we are very excited to bring you performances by Charlie Straw (with support TBA).

Charlie Straw - Artist Bio

Wirral-born Charlie Straw is all about stories. Whether it's the stories in his songs, the story of him recording his early music in a basement in Thailand or the story of him sofa-surfing the length of the UK for 30 days playing a show every night in venues including prisons, churches and barns. In the age of internet-based artists, Charlie is an artist who is getting out to learn from as many different experiences he can whilst connecting with people in a variety of ways.

His influences range from Nick Drake and Johnny Flynn right though to Foals and The National. These influences can be seen all over his live show, which consists of folk/indie songs but with a dark and soulful edge. He takes you from intimate songs of heartbreak all the way to big sing-a-long moments.

Off the back of three sold-out London headline shows, numerous UK Festival dates and previously opening shows for the likes of James Bay, Nathaniel Rateliff and The Japanese House - Charlie's recent release was featured on New Music Friday and will be following up with more new music this Autumn.
