House of Art Presents: Table Takeover - Artist Meetup and Discussion

House of Art is a creative collective built on collaboration, conversation, and community. Co-founded by Curtis and Pearl, we bring artists and audiences together through experiences that sit at the intersection of art, healing, and dialogue. Our events blend expression and exploration — from live art and wellbeing sessions to open discussions that challenge how we see and create.We’re an open space for artists, dreamers, healers and makers.

This month we’re back at the Firepit Gallery with our second Table Takeover ! An artist meetup with studio vibes specially made for creative souls. The premise is simple: we take over a table, bring the work, bring the questions, and see where the conversation leads.

The Burning Question: How Do We Know This Is Real?

In a world of thinning veils and peeling veneers its hard to work out what’s what. How do we prove that what we present is the real deal, when so much of what is around us is built to imitate? How do we keep that direct line to truth and is it even important if were drawing from imagination anyway?

We’ll be talking about originality, honesty, and those blurry moments between inspiration and imitation. About whether we even need to be original, or if authenticity just another tactic. And then there’s the bigger aspects technology, simulation, ego, love, hate, validation. Were swimming in a strange soup as the temperature rises more questions emerge.

We want to hear how you keep your work grounded. What anchors you to your own truth? What habits, motifs, or rituals remind you that it’s yours?

Bring something to share: a sketch, a USB, a photo, a half-formed idea, or just your energy.

We’ll start the debate at 6:30PM, wrap up around 7:30PM, and leave space before and after to hang out, connect, and build with one another.

It’s laid back. It’s open. It’s about real conversation between real people doing real creative work.

Photography and Filming take place during workshops and gallery opening times. Please let us know if you do not want to be on film. All material captured is used for either our social media or future promotion.

Firepit is a unique space, we have a gallery of beautiful and relevant art, artist studio spaces and a community event space. We will hold the event on a large communal table, next to the windows. You are in the heart of the gallery here and are surrounded by inspirational art.
