Houselights Open Forum
Date and time
Description
We are delighted to invite you to our inaugural event, the Houselights Open Forum. Houselights is a new organisation working to ensure that new generations of theatre professionals enter the industry knowing how to report an incident of sexual harassment. We are developing a set of workshops to take to Drama Schools and Youth Theatres around the UK, where we will share examples of venues and arts organisations that display good practice with students.
Houselights launched online in mid-August 2018 and we have been overwhelmed with a positive response to our work, from graduates, theatre professionals and VAWG professionals. As a new organisation in a formative stage of development, we are hosting an Open-Forum evening to discuss our plans, to hear from guest speakers, and to discuss some important questions about the relationship between venues and training institutions. The event will also be a chance to hear about the ways to get involved with Houselights. We will be talking about our Affiliates Programme which we set up to harness the support of theatres and arts organisations, as well as talking about how you can bring a Houselights workshop to your training institution.
In order to ensure that the work of Houselights is truly impactful, we need to hear from a range of industry voices. Whether you are a graduate, current student, theatre professional, VAWG professional or someone with a vested interest in preventing sexual harassment in the arts industry - then we'd love for you to come along to this event and share your insight with us.
We will be providing light food and a complimentary drink for all attendees. The bar in Studio 4 will be open!
