Are you interested in how the Houses of Parliament works in the UK?
Gary Hart (Houses of Parliament Outreach Officer) has kindly agreed to join us to present to our international students (past and present) on how the Parliament works here in the UK. The talk will cover a number of topics, including:
• An introduction to Parliament
• How Parliament works
• How Bills progress through Parliament
• Parliamentary Questions
• Using the Parliamentary website to track particular subjects
Gary will be joined by the Stephanie Hemelryk Donald, Head of the School of the Arts, here at The University of Liverpool. Stephi returned to the UK last year having spent the past seventeen years in Australia, most recently as an Australian Research Council professorial Future Fellow at the University of New South Wales. She is a specialist in media and film, with much of her work concerned with China and the Asia Pacific region.
Although this presentation is aimed at international students, all are welcome. We anticipate high demand for tickets so please book your ticket as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

10.00-11.00 Houses of Parliament Outreach Presentation by Gary Hart.

The ‘Houses of Parliament Outreach’ service aims to increase levels of awareness, understanding and public engagement with Parliament, as part of a strategy endorsed by both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
