Housing Insecurity & the Benefits System: How Online Systems Disadvantage Survivors of Domestic Abuse

As part of Standing Together Against Domestic Abuse’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence online campaign, the Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) is proud to present: Housing Insecurity & the Benefits System: How Online Systems Disadvantage Survivors of Domestic Abuse

This webinar explores the challenges and risks created by the digitalisation of the UK’s benefits system - including Universal Credit (UC) and Housing Benefit (HB). It will examine how limited or no access to the internet can disadvantage survivors of abuse, further deepening inequality and social exclusion.

The session will also highlight how perpetrators can exploit or manipulate the benefit system to maintain control and entrap survivors, and how these systemic barriers contribute to housing insecurity, homelessness, or prevent survivors from moving on from homelessness.

Don’t miss this important and insightful discussion!
