About this event

The Frontline Network is delighted to offer this full day training, as part of our Outsourced Training programme, Housing Law: Tenancies and Licences delivered by Homeless Link.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for frontline workers who are responsible for the day-to-day enforcement of agreements, for support staff who work with people who have tenancies and licence agreements, and managers requiring a strategic overview.

Please note we are only able to offer frontline workers based in the UK. If you are not employed in a frontline role supporting people experiencing homelessness unfortunately, we will not be able to offer you a space on this course.

Please ensure you have agree time off for training with line manager in order to attend this event prior to registration.

About the Course

This course covers key issues in tenancies and licenses, including sham agreements, anti-social behaviour policies, housing-related support, possession grounds and process, and rights concerning tenant belongings. It provides essential knowledge, skills, and confidence for enforcing occupancy agreements, and can be adapted for staff supporting clients facing enforcement actions.

What will your team learn?

Through this course, you will:

  • Be able to describe the properties of licenses and tenancies.
  • Have explored likely clauses in tenancy and license agreements.
  • Have more information around how to manage breaches of occupancy agreements as a provider, or how to support clients in this situation.
  • Have discussed anti-social behaviour, what it might be and what ASB support a housing provider should have in place.
  • Have considered what makes effective housing-related support.
  • Have discussed what makes notices valid and describe the stages of the possession process.
  • Be able to recognise what orders a court can make and what might be the likely outcome of possession proceedings.
  • Have learned how a provider can legally take back properties without going to court.

How will it be delivered?

Sessions will take place on Zoom. You will require access to Zoom on a computer to attend – we do not recommend attending using a mobile device.
