Event description
This meeting reviews the negative impacts Brexit has had on our local community, the others we can expect, and what we can do to fix them.

About this event

How Brexit is Damaging Oxford, a debate with Andrew Adonis - town hall and online.

Hosted by Oxford European Association in collaboration with Oxford for Europe

Andrew Adonis is chair of the European Movement, the main national pro-European organisation which says that Brexit isn't working and the only viable remedy for Brexit's harms is the step by step journey towards rejoining the European Union.

Invited panellists and local citizens from the Oxford area will testify about what Brexit has done and is doing to their lives, livelihoods, futures and well-being across a whole range of sectors.

Dr Ruvi Ziegler ( Associate Professor in International Refugee Law at the University of Reading, and chair of Oxford European Association), will chair the panel.

Joining Lord Adonis, our panellists are Ewa Gluza, secretary of Oxford Polish Association on Brexit's consequences for the Polish community, Susan Hartman, health technology manufacturer, on Brexit impacts for exports to the European Union, and Dominic McGinley, a Scottish undergraduate at Magdalen College, Oxford, and one of the founding members of Young European Movement Oxford.

Finally we will discuss the road map we can soonest take to end the self-inflicted harms caused by this historic national mistake.

Social distance means that on-site seating in the Assembly Room must be limited to 80 people. You can also join the meeting remotely, at a reduced charge, via Zoom.

Seating in the hall will be socially distanced. Attendees are asked to wear a face covering during the meeting and will be expected to be double vaccinated or have a recent negative test certificate. Please let us know if you have already booked and have any issue with these requirements.

If you book a Zoom ticket, you will receive an email shortly providing the link to use for joining the event via Zoom.
