‘How building services engineers can save civilisation’
Mon 24 July 2017, 18:00 – 20:00 BST
Fiona Cousins, FCIBSE, of Arup, presented this talk at the CIBSE Annual Lecture last year and will be bringing it up to date for when she comes to Leeds.
Fiona leads the sustainability and mechanical engineering teams in Arup’s New York office. She directs technical investments for Arup’s Americas Region, and is a member of Arup’s Americas Board. As a mechanical engineer, Fiona has spent much of her career engaged in HVAC design, specialising in thermal comfort and energy efficiency.
Fiona is a frequent presenter on transformative sustainable building design and has presented technical papers in the areas of low-energy design and sustainability. She served as chair of the New York Chapter of the USGBC (Urban Green) for two years, as well as being chair of the USGBC.
The plan for the evening is as follows:
6:30pm Presentation from Fiona with Q&A/discussion
7: 30pm Close
We are being kindly hosted by Craig Havenhand and the Arup Leeds team and we are pleased that the buffet will provided by The Real Junk Food Project, probably the most environmentally friendly caterer in business.
If you like to tweet, or are unable to attend, but still be involved, follow #YCIBSE on the night.
