About this Event

What is it?

An exciting half day event aimed at businesses who are thinking about embarking upon a Lean Journey within their own business and who are looking to gain an understanding of the best way to engage staff to achieve this.

The event will look to cover and explore;

  • Lean Principles
  • The role of Culture
  • Overview of Key Tools and Techniques
  • Measuring Success
  • How best to apply "Lean" within an organisation

By the end of the session, delegates will:

Gain a better understanding on how to use Lean as a way of improving their processes. Businesses that use Lean are found to be more likely to achieve better performance in respect to Product/Service Quality, Delivery and Cost, as well as improving staff engagement, motivation, and many other benefits.

Kick start your lean journey and find out how we can support you along the way!

The session is delivered by Jim Barr, Jim, whom in a previous life worked within Blue Chip technology based businesses, managing both manufacturing and engineering operations, as well as a European Service Team. He first encountered “Lean”, working for Fujitsu in the 90’s and has used it extensively over the last 15 years working as a Consultant to engage and improve all types of businesses, large and small. In this time he has applied “Lean”, in sectors as diverse as Food, Textiles, Shipbuilding and Micro Electronics, delivering over 500 project days, from 5S to Value Stream Mapping and a host of other “Lean” improvement Tools and Techniques. So he is well placed to appraise and understand the improvement needs of a business, and to subsequently scope and deliver a “Lean” project which addresses these.

Please note: The places at this event are fully funded from ERDF and LGF sources and as such we are required to capture reporting data for our funders on the recipients attending to demonstrate the support and this is reflected in the questions to complete as part of the registration process and eligibility checks will be carried out and you may be contacted prior to the event.
