Event description

Description

London has a reputation for being an inclusive, diverse and progressive city. Yet women continue to be paid less than men, and are consistently underrepresented in senior roles across the public, private and third sectors. This isn't just a moral issue; evidence suggests that there is a strong economic case for gender equity too.

McKinsey & Company's recent report Delivering through diversity reinforces the link between diversity and company financial performance – and suggests how organisations can craft better inclusion strategies for a competitive edge.

Join us to discuss the benefits diversity can bring to London boroughs, business and anchor institutions. We'll discuss the proactive steps London’s major employers need to take to achieve gender equity in their workplaces, and discuss the importance of diversity to London as a global capital.

Questions we'll explore include:

Is there a case for gender quotas in leadership?
What can be done to tackle gender bias, whether conscious or subconscious?
How can we ensure a variety of career paths are modelled for young women? And what can schools do to support this?
How can childcare be made more flexible to support working families?
