How can we build communities where residents can walk, cycle and use public transport to go about their daily lives?

About this event

JOIN US FOR ONLY £10! USE DISCOUNT CODE 10OFF AT CHECKOUT

Much of our new housing in England is built around cars - not around sustainable transport. This is adding to traffic jams, carbon emissions, and locking communities into car-dependence.

That's the conclusion of Transport for New Homes' recent popular report 'Building Car Dependency', as seen in the BBC, Guardian, LBC News and more.

  • What have we learned from this latest research?
  • How and why is car-dependent housing being built?
  • Where are we getting things right in developments across England?

Join us for an exciting opportunity to gain an insight into our research, meet our researchers and take part in the discussion! You can also take part in our workshop to suggest revisions to National Policy Planning Framework (NPPF) to encourage the Government to effectively build around sustainable transport - no experience is necessary!

Anyone with a personal, professional, or academic interest in transport and planning is welcome. Tickets are limited, so please do book today!

All proceeds will cover event costs, with any small profit made going towards our work.

Notes

  • The venue is a 5-10 minute walk from Birmingham New St, Moor St and Snow Hill train stations.
  • All areas of the venue are fully accessible. The Atrium is located on the ground floor and our meeting room is accessible via a lift. There is a separate accessible WC located on the ground floor.
  • We'll make every effort to provide car parking spaces for disabled guests. Please let us know if you require this when booking to secure your place.
