This event is perfect for charities and social enterprises, with limited experience of engaging private sector partners, who are looking to gain an understanding of current trends and influencing factors in business-community engagement.
During this event, Davina will cover:
• Exploration of business-community engagement, including the ‘Corporate Social Responsibility’ landscape
• Understanding the business mindset: motivations and drivers
• A whistlestop tour of the Business Unusual approach to business engagement, with case studies
• You’ll also get the opportunity to ask Davina your questions about this topic and get advice on any issues you may have at this stage.
We'll kick off and round up the evening with drinks, nibbles and a chance to chat with the other inspiring entrepreneurs.
You will also get the opportunity to see our fantastic new co-working space !
About Davina Pilkington
Davina is one of the co-founders and directors of Business Unusual: a business-community engagement consultancy service working with commercial businesses, public sector bodies, social enterprises and community organisations that want to create internal and external positive change through working strategically with each other.
Davina has over seven years’ experience of shaping, delivering and monitoring the impact of business- community partnerships and programmes. The three years she spent working in the charity sector consisted of developing and managing partnership initiatives and campaigns with businesses. From there she moved on to the City of London Corporation, where she and Business Unusual colleague Corinne Thomas met and together cultivated a business-community programme, between them developing community activities of over 100 City businesses. This led to Business Unusual’s inception, as well as 18 months working part time in the micro finance sector.
Davina regularly runs coaching days and seminars for charities and social enterprises looking to effectively engage with business.
