Event description

Description

An event for workforce leaders in the NHS, looking at how to improve organisational culture using a collective leadership approach.

Following the results of the staff survey published in February, this event allows an opportunity to:

  • Identify and recognise the culture in your organisation and the influence it has on your staff and patients
  • Learn how to use your staff survey results and use data more effectively
  • Examine what the research-based evidence suggests are indicators of bullying, harassment and negative cultures
  • Learn about practical tools to help you both diagnose and improve your culture
  • Discuss and understand what makes a just and learning culture and how you can embed this in your organisation
  • Hear from other NHS colleagues and national thought leaders on their experience of embedding a compassionate leadership culture

Confirmed speakers:

This is a great opportunity for delegates to hear from expert speakers on this important yet challenging issue for the NHS. We are pleased to confirm Professor Michael West and Amanda Oates as keynote speakers for the event.

Professor Michael West is the Head of Thought Leadership at the King’s Fund and Professor of Work and Organisational Psychology at Lancaster University and has been a leading light in developing compassionate cultures.

Amanda Oates is the Executive Director of Workforce for Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust. Amanda has been instrumental in the development of the award-winning Just and Learning Culture at Mersey Care which has made significant inroads in the developing a compassionate culture where staff feel valued and respected.
