The University of Glasgow’s Human Geography Research Group – with the School of Geographical and Earth Science is hosting an SGSSS joint funded conference:

How critical is research impact?

National Postgraduate Conference 2019

December 12th and 13th, 2019, University of Glasgow

Hosted by the University of Glasgow’s Human Geography Research Group (HGRG) with funding from SGSSS and School of Geographical and Earth Science

The 2 day training conference will showcase and explore staff and postgraduate experience of producing and managing ‘research impact’ in human and environmental geography research.

The event will outline and question what research impact is and think through how postgraduate researchers might design their PhD to have ‘critical’ impact.

Deciding and debating what comprises ‘critical research impact’ is a key point of the event.

Speakers/contributors include: Deborah Dixon and Phil Nicolson; Cheryl McGeachan; Ian Shaw; Hester Parr; Sophie Boyd (@GeographySings); Emma Laurie and external guests - Ian Cook, Ruth Machan, H Lorimer and more Postgraduate speakers announced shortly.
