How Degree Apprenticeships Can Work For You
Wed 7 December 2016, 17:30 – 20:00 GMT
In April next year the government will introduce a mandatory 0.5 per cent apprenticeship levy for all organisations with a pay bill over £3 million each year. There is therefore significant Government funding per apprentice, for three years towards the cost of a degree apprenticeship, enabling both large and small businesses to develop existing employees and/or recruit young talented individuals.
We’d be delighted if you could join us at our Hot Topic to discuss these exciting initiatives to upskill our future workforce and register your interest as an employer for 2017.
Topics to be discussed:
- Portsmouth University as providers of Degree Apprenticeships.
Professor Paul Hayes, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Education and Student Experience).
- Further information on the levy and how it could affect your organisation.
Alison Cox, Chartered Management Institute.
- The benefits from the perspective of the apprentice and the employer.
Adrian Ingham, CEO, Yourcentre.
5.30pm - Registration and Refreshments.
6.00pm - Hot Topic begins with Guest Speakers.
7.00pm - Q&A session followed by a Cheese and Wine Reception, with the opportunity to meet the guest speakers and network with like-minded employers.
